Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The SVG is drawn and converted inside your browser. Your files and their code never leave your device, and the SVG does not run scripts or load external resources while it is converted.
How do I keep the background transparent?
Leave the background on “Transparent” and choose PNG or WebP. JPG does not support transparency, so in that format transparent areas are filled with white or the color you choose.
What size should I convert an SVG to?
Because SVG is vector-based, you can choose any size without losing sharpness. For high-density screens use 2x or 3x, and for printing or a poster, a large width in pixels. Think about the final use: a thumbnail does not need 4000 pixels.
Why does my SVG come out without images or with a different font?
When it is converted in your browser, an SVG cannot load external images or fonts for security reasons. If your SVG uses them, they will show up empty or in a different font, and we warn you. The fix: embed the images in the SVG or convert the text to outlines in your editor.
Can I convert several SVG files at once?
Yes, up to 100 per batch. They all use the same scale or size and download together in a ZIP.
What is the difference between SVG and PNG
An SVG describes the image with shapes and paths, so it looks sharp at any size and stays small. A PNG is a pixel image: it has a fixed size, but any program, social network, or word processor can open it. That is why you often need to turn a logo or an icon from SVG into PNG.
How to choose the size of the PNG
- 1x: the original size of the SVG, for basic uses.
- 2x and 3x: high-density (Retina) screens and presentations.
- 4x or a large width: printing, posters, or when you plan to shrink the image afterward.
If the SVG has no size of its own, we use a comfortable one based on its aspect ratio. You can also set the width or the height and the other side is calculated for you. If you need other formats, try the image converter.
