How to use it

  1. Drag your images into the box or select them from your device. You can add several at once.
  2. Choose how to resize: by pixels, by percentage, or by longest side. You can also select a preset such as Full HD or Avatar.
  3. If you want, change the format, quality, and resolution (DPI). The result updates on its own.
  4. Download each image separately or all of them together in a ZIP.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The resizing happens inside your browser, on your own device. Your photos never leave it, so you can use it with private images.

How do I keep the aspect ratio so the image is not distorted?

Leave “Keep aspect ratio” turned on and enter only the width or the height: the other value is calculated for you. With several images of different shapes, each one keeps its own proportions.

What happens if I enter a width and height that do not match the aspect ratio?

Turn off “Keep aspect ratio” and choose what to do: fit the whole image inside the frame with bars, fill the frame and crop what does not fit, or stretch it to the exact size, even if it gets distorted.

Do I lose quality when I resize?

When you shrink an image, quality holds up very well because we use high-quality resampling (Lanczos). When you enlarge one, it can look softer because details that do not exist cannot be invented. If you need to enlarge a lot, start from a larger original.

Does changing the DPI change the size of the image?

No. DPI is only a label that tells a printer what size to print the image. The pixels stay the same. It is saved in PNG and JPG files only.

Can I resize without enlarging the smaller images?

Yes. Turn on “Do not enlarge smaller images” and any image that is already smaller than the size you asked for stays as it is. It is ideal for processing folders of photos in different sizes.

When to change the size of an image

Photos from a current phone are 4000 pixels wide or more, which is more than a web page, an email, or a social network needs. Shrinking them saves space, speeds up loading, and keeps platforms from recompressing them on their own with worse quality.

By pixels, by percentage, or by longest side

  • By pixels: when you need a specific width or height, for example 800 px for a blog.
  • By percentage: to cut an image in half (50%) or double it (200%) without doing any math.
  • By longest side: ideal for batches of landscape and portrait photos, because the longest side of every image ends up the same.

Common sizes

HD is 1280 px, Full HD is 1920 px, and 4K is 3840 px on the longest side. For a profile picture, 400 × 400 px is usually enough. If you need exact sizes for Instagram, YouTube, or other social networks, use the social media image resizer.
