Stats are saved only in this browser. If you clear the site data, they are lost.
Interval settings
Use whole numbers only.
Great for interval workouts: for example, 40 s of work and 20 s of rest for 8 rounds.
Parallel timers
Up to four at once, each with its own name. When one finishes, the alarm sounds and you will see which one it was.
Alarm and notifications
The sound is generated in your browser and is enabled when you select Start. The time remaining also appears in the tab title.
How to use it
- Choose the mode: countdown, pomodoro, intervals, or several timers at once.
- Enter the hours, minutes, and seconds, or select a common time like 5, 10, or 25 minutes. You can also open a link like #10m.
- Select Start. You can switch tabs: the time is calculated from the clock, so it never stops or falls behind.
- When it ends, the alarm sounds until you select Stop alarm. Turn on browser notifications if you want an alert while the tab is in the background.
Frequently asked questions
Does the timer work with the tab in the background?
Yes. The countdown is calculated by subtracting the current time from the end time instead of counting seconds, so it does not fall behind. We also use a background heartbeat so the alarm sounds on time, and the tab title shows how much time is left.
How does pomodoro mode work?
It alternates 25 minutes of work with a 5 minute short break, and after every 4 pomodoros you get a 15 minute long break. You can change all the times. You can choose whether the next phase starts on its own and note the task you are working on. We save in your browser how many pomodoros you completed.
How do I make a 10 minute timer to share?
Add #10m to the end of the address (herramientas-web.com/en/timer#10m). Anyone who opens it will see the timer ready at 10:00. #1h30m, #90s, and #pomodoro work too.
Why does the alarm not sound?
Browsers only allow sound after something you do, which is why we enable it when you select Start. Check that Mute is not turned on, that your device volume is up, and use Test sound. If the tab was closed when the timer ended, it cannot sound.
Can I use several timers at once?
Yes. In Multiple mode you can have up to four, each with its own name and time, for example when cooking. When each one ends the alarm sounds and you will see which one it was.
Is what I set saved?
We save your settings, the timer state (so you can pick it up if you reload), and your pomodoro stats in this browser. Nothing is sent to any server, and it is deleted if you clear the site data.
Countdown, pomodoro, and intervals
The countdown is great for cooking, studying, taking a break, or keeping a meeting short. Pomodoro mode organizes work into blocks with breaks, a technique widely used to stay focused. Intervals let you train with repeated work and rest periods, for example 40 seconds of effort and 20 of rest for 8 rounds.
Timers from 1 to 60 minutes
Select a time and the timer is ready on this same page. Each one has its own link, so you can bookmark it or send it in a message.
- 1 minute: guided breathing, a plank, or a quick brew.
- 3 minutes: a soft-boiled egg or tea.
- 5 minutes: a short pomodoro break or a lightning talk.
- 10 minutes: thin pasta or a task you keep putting off.
- 15 minutes: a power nap or a reading block.
- 20 minutes: the 20-20-20 rule says to look at something far away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes to rest your eyes.
- 25 minutes: one full pomodoro of work.
- 30 minutes: a short class or a workout.
- 45 minutes: a study block with a break at the end.
- 1 hour: a meeting or a deep-work session.
A reliable alarm
- The sound is generated in your browser and repeats until you stop it.
- You can choose from four melodies and adjust the volume.
- On your phone, it can optionally vibrate when it ends.
- The tab title shows the time left, and you can add a minute if you need more.
Accessibility
The time remaining has a timer role and is not read out every second: only the start, the halfway point, the last minute, and the end are announced. Everything can be used with the keyboard.
