Wheel spinner
Type your options, one per line, and spin. You can give some options better odds, draw a podium, split people into teams, and show the wheel full screen.

- Space Spin
- E Edit
- R Restore list
- F Full screen
Options
Add *3 to the end of a line to triple its chances. For example: Casey*3
Options and probabilities
Simulates 10,000 spins with the current probabilities and shows how often each option came up.
| Option | Expected | Drawn | Observed |

Mode and settings
From 1st to 10th, with no repeats. The wheel stops on 1st.
People are assigned at random into evenly sized teams.
One per line. If you leave any out, “Team 1”, “Team 2”… are used.
My wheels and share link
The wheels you save stay only in this browser. If you clear the site data, they are lost.

How to use it
- Type your options in the box, one per line. You can also choose a template, paste a list, or import a .txt or .csv file (in a CSV, a column named “weight” gives each option better odds).
- To make an option come up more often, add an asterisk and a number at the end. For example, Casey*3 has three times the chance.
- Select Spin, click the wheel, or press the space bar. The wheel stops on the winner.
- Use Spin again or Remove and spin again to draw without repeats. In Podium or Teams mode you get several results at once.
Frequently asked questions
Is the result really random?
Yes. The winner is chosen before the wheel starts to spin, using your browser’s cryptographic random generator, with no bias, and the animation ends exactly on that option. How fast or when you click makes no difference.
How do I give an option better odds?
Add an asterisk and a number to the end of the line: Alex*3 is three times as likely as an option with no weight. Under the box you can see the exact probability of each option.
How many options can I use?
Up to 500. With more than 100, the wheel stops writing the names inside the slices, but the draw works the same and the winner is shown and announced in text.
How do I draw without the winner repeating?
After spinning, select Remove and spin again: the winner leaves the list and the wheel spins again. To get back to the original list, use Restore list. If you want several places at once, choose Podium mode.
Are my lists saved or sent anywhere?
They are not sent to any server. Your last list and the wheels you save stay only in this browser and are lost if you clear the site data. The share link carries the list inside the address itself.
Can I use it in class or in a meeting?
Yes. Select Full screen (or press F) to project it. Space spins, E edits the list, and R restores it. If you would rather not depend on the animation, turn on No animation.
A wheel to decide without arguments
Use it to pick who goes first in a game, who presents today, what to cook, or who pays the bill. It also works for drawing among a group of people in class, in a meeting, or on social media, with the advantage that everyone sees how the choice is made and nobody can argue with the result. If you need numbers instead of names, try the random number generator.
What a weighted wheel is for
With no weights, every option has the same chance and the slices are all the same size. With weights, the width of each slice is proportional to its probability: an option with weight 3 takes up three times as much room as one with weight 1. It helps when the options are not all worth the same:
- Raffles with tickets: someone who bought three tickets writes “Casey*3” and has three times the chance.
- Deciding what to eat: “Pizza*3, Sushi*1, Salad*1” shows that pizza is the favorite but does not always win.
- Chores at home or on a team: give less weight to whoever has already covered more shifts this week.
The list of options and probabilities under the box shows the exact percentage of each one. If your data is already in a spreadsheet, import a .csv file: a column named “weight” is applied automatically, and you can undo the import if something did not come out as you expected.
Available modes
- One winner: spins the wheel and shows the result, with the option to remove it and spin again without repeats.
- Podium: draws up to ten places without picking the same option twice.
- Teams: splits the list at random into groups of the same size, with optional names.
- Order: shuffles the whole list, useful for presentation turns.
A draw you can check
The winner is chosen before the wheel starts to spin, with the browser’s cryptographic random generator, and the animation ends exactly on that option. If you need a record of a draw, copy the draw record with the date, the list with its weights, and the result. And if you doubt the randomness, “Verify the randomness” simulates 10,000 spins with your list and compares how often each option actually came up with how often it should have.
Accessible and distraction-free
The wheel is a visual representation: you always have the list in text, and the result is announced for screen readers. You can turn off the animation and the sound, and turn on patterns so you do not depend on color.
