20 character password generator
Twenty characters, already set up for your most sensitive accounts. Generate another or copy this one: it never leaves your device.

Added to the sets you picked.
Each word comes from a list of 7,773 common English words and adds 12.9 bits. It is easy to remember and hard to guess.
A PIN is only secure if the service limits the number of attempts. For online accounts, use a long password.
From 1 to 50
It is not sent anywhere. It is analyzed in your browser.
This is an upper-bound estimate: it does not know every word in every language or the passwords that have leaked. A phrase made of common words is worth much less than it looks.
Best practices
- Use a password manager so you do not have to remember them.
- Turn on two-step verification on important accounts.
- Do not reuse the same password on different sites.
How to use it
- Pick the type: random password, passphrase made of words, or numeric PIN.
- Set the length and the characters you want to use. The password regenerates on its own with every change.
- Check the strength: we show the bits of entropy and the estimated time it would take to guess it.
- Copy the password with one click. If you generated several, you can copy them all or download them.
- Save it in a password manager: it is not kept here.
Frequently asked questions
Is 20 characters too long?
Not for sites that accept it: the longer, the harder to guess. If a site does not allow that many, lower the length in the options or use a passphrase.
How much entropy does it reach?
With all four character types, well above 120 bits. That margin is considered impossible to brute-force with today’s technology.
Do all sites accept every symbol?
No. Some reject certain symbols or limit the length. If a site complains, edit the “Allowed symbols” list or turn off “Symbols” and keep the length: a long password stays strong without them.
The strongest option here
Twenty random characters, with uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols, comfortably exceed 120 bits of entropy. It is the length to use in your password manager, banking, and main email, where typing it does not matter because the manager fills it in for you.
Mind the limits
Some sites set a maximum length or reject certain symbols. If that is your case, generate a shorter one from the 16 character password or adjust the length and characters in the full tool.
