Step by step

How to use it

  1. Drag your photo into the box, choose a file, or paste it with Ctrl+V. JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, and BMP are supported.
  2. In “Adjust”, change the exposure, contrast, colors, sharpness, or vignette. With “Auto enhance”, the editor balances the highlights and shadows for you.
  3. Try a look in “Filters”, crop and straighten in “Crop”, or add a border in “Frame”. Use “Compare” to see the original photo next to your edit.
  4. Choose the output format and size, then download the edited photo. If you do not like something, undo it with Ctrl+Z or the “Undo” button.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The editing is calculated in your own browser and the photo never leaves your device. You can retouch personal photos or photos of documents without worrying about who might see them.

Does quality drop when I download the edited photo?

The preview uses a reduced version so the controls respond quickly, but when you download, the editor applies everything again to the full-size photo. PNG loses no quality; with JPG or WebP you pick the quality and see the final file size.

How do I turn a photo black and white?

Open the “Filters” tab and choose “Black and white” (or “Noir” if you want more contrast). You can also lower the saturation to -100 in “Adjust”. Then tune the contrast and shadows until you like the result.

Can I straighten a crooked photo, like a tilted horizon?

Yes. In “Crop”, move the “Straighten” control a few degrees one way or the other. The editor enlarges the photo slightly so there are no empty corners. After that you can lock an aspect ratio, such as 4:5 or 16:9, and move the crop box.

What does “Auto enhance” do?

It measures how the highlights and shadows are spread across the photo. If it looks dull, dark, or low in contrast, it adjusts the brightness, contrast, and color vibrance. It is a starting point: you can fine-tune each control or undo it.

Is the orientation of phone photos kept?

Yes. Photos taken upright open upright. When you save, the file is created again and does not keep data such as GPS location or camera model, which is useful if you are going to post it online.

What you can fix in a photo

Almost every photo improves with a few changes. If it came out dark, raise the exposure or lift the shadows. If it looks flat, add contrast. If the colors look dull, raise the vibrance, which brightens soft tones without blowing out the ones that are already strong. And if it has a yellow or bluish cast from the light in the room, correct it with temperature and tint.

How to use the controls without overdoing it

  • Change things a little at a time: move one control, look at the photo, then go on to the next. Small changes look more natural.
  • Watch the histogram: if the graph piles up against one edge, there are shadows or highlights with no detail. Spread it toward the center.
  • Compare often: “Compare” shows the original photo next to your edit and keeps you from getting used to an exaggerated color.
  • Filters with strength: a filter at 100% is usually too much. Lower it to 40 or 60% and it looks more refined.

Crop and straighten

Cropping helps the main subject fill more of the frame and removes what is left over at the edges. If you are posting on social media, lock the aspect ratio before moving the box: 1:1 for square posts, 4:5 for the vertical feed, 9:16 for stories, and 16:9 for videos and covers. For a crooked horizon, use “Straighten” until the line is level.

Choosing the format when you save

Use JPG for photos you are going to share: it is small and opens everywhere. Choose PNG if you need transparency or do not want to lose any detail, and WebP for web pages. If the photo is bigger than you need, reduce the output size or run it through the image compressor afterward.

Privacy and large photos

Phone photos can weigh several megabytes and be thousands of pixels wide. The editor processes the image in a separate background process of your browser, so the page does not freeze while you move a control, and the final export is made at full size. Your photo is not uploaded to any server, and camera data such as location is dropped when you save.
