This PDF is protected
To edit it, each page is converted to an image when you save. The text will no longer be selectable. If you have the unprotected version, use that instead.Visual signature, not a digital signature
This places an image of your signature on the document (a simple electronic signature). It does not use a digital certificate, so it does not replace the digital signature that an agency may require.Done
How to use it
- Drop your PDF into the box or select it from your device. It is shown in your browser and never uploaded anywhere.
- Select “Signature” and create yours: draw it with your finger or mouse, type your name in a handwriting font, or upload a photo of your signature.
- Select the spot on the page where the signature goes. Move it into place and resize it from the corners. If needed, add a date, initials, text, or a checkmark.
- Select “Apply and download.” The rest of the document stays the same. Afterward you can compress it or merge it with other PDFs.
Frequently asked questions
Are my document or my signature uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is opened and signed inside your browser, on your own device. Neither the document nor the signature goes through our servers, so you can sign contracts, forms, or receipts with peace of mind.
Is this signature legally valid?
It adds a visual signature, which is a simple electronic signature: the image of your signature placed on the document. It works for many everyday needs, but whether it is accepted depends on who receives it and on the laws where you live. It is not a digital signature with a certificate: those are issued by an authorized certificate authority and checked with special software.
Can I sign from my phone?
Yes. On your phone you draw the signature with your finger, place it with a tap, and adjust it by dragging. If the document looks too small, zoom in with the zoom buttons or by pinching.
Can I put the signature on several pages, with a date and initials?
Yes. Select an object you have already placed and choose “Copy to all pages” to copy it to the same position on the rest. You can also add today’s date in different formats, your initials, free text, and checkmarks.
Is my signature saved for next time?
Only if you ask for it. When you create the signature you can turn on “Remember my signature on this device”: it is saved only in your browser and you can delete it whenever you like. If you do not turn it on, the signature disappears when you close or reload the page.
Can I sign a password-protected PDF?
Yes, by typing the password to open it. Because these files cannot be modified directly, each page is converted to an image when you save: the signature looks fine, but the text can no longer be selected. If you have the unprotected version, it is better to use that one.
Simple electronic signature and digital signature: which one you need
This tool puts an image of your signature on the PDF, just as if you printed it, signed it, and scanned it, but without the paper. It is known as a simple electronic signature and is enough for most everyday paperwork: permission slips, forms, quotes, agreements between individuals, or a company’s internal documents.
A digital signature is something else: it uses a certificate issued by an authorized certificate authority and lets anyone verify who signed and whether the document changed afterward. If an agency or a contract requires one, you will have to use the system they indicate.
Tips for a clean signature
- Draw calmly and with the device resting on something. On a phone it works better in landscape and with the “Medium” or “Thick” stroke.
- If you prefer your real signature, sign a white sheet of paper, take a photo in good light, and upload it: it is cropped and the background is removed automatically.
- Adjust the size so it sits on the signature line without covering the text. With the arrow keys you move it one point at a time, and with Shift ten at a time.
- Check the result before sending it. You can keep editing after the file is generated.
After signing
If the file is heavy, compress it before emailing it. If the process asks for several documents in a single file, merge them.
