How to use it
- Drop your PDFs (or JPG, PNG, and WebP images) into the box, or choose them from your device. You can add more at any time.
- Put the files in order by dragging them or with the move up and move down buttons. Use “Sort A-Z” if they are numbered, and rotate any that are sideways.
- To mix pages from different files, switch to the “Pages” view: there you can move, rotate, or remove each page.
- Choose a name for the final file, select “Merge PDF,” and download it. If you like, compress it or add page numbers next.
Frequently asked questions
What is a bookmark in a PDF?
It is an outline entry that shows up in the side panel of the viewer and lets you jump from one file to another inside the merged PDF. One is created for each file you add.
Are the original bookmarks kept?
Bookmarks that were already in the original PDFs are not kept; instead, the tool creates a new one for each file, using its name.
Can I turn it off?
Yes. The “Create one bookmark per file” switch is on, but you can turn it off under Options before merging if you prefer a PDF without an outline.
A merged PDF that is easier to navigate
When you merge many documents, finding a specific part can be awkward. With one bookmark per file, the PDF viewer shows an outline in the side panel and you can jump straight to the document you need.
How it is built
The option comes turned on: each file you add becomes an entry with its name. The PDF is put together in your browser, without uploading the documents to any server. To merge without an outline, turn the option off in Merge PDF.
