How do you want to split it?
Separate them with commas. You can select pages on the thumbnails and the field fills itself in.
A file can weigh less, but never more (except for a page that already exceeds the limit).
One file is created for each top-level bookmark in the PDF outline.

How to use it
- Drop your PDF into the box or choose it from your device. You will see all of its pages as thumbnails.
- Choose how to split it: by ranges (for example 1-3, 5, 8-), one page per file, every certain number of pages, by maximum size, or by bookmarks.
- Check the summary that says how many files you will get and, if it helps, select pages directly on the thumbnails.
- Select “Split PDF.” Download each file separately or all of them together in a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is split inside your browser and never leaves your device. You can use the tool with contracts, invoices, or personal documents without sharing them with anyone.
How do I write the page ranges?
Separate the ranges with commas. “1-3, 5, 8-” produces three files: pages 1 to 3, page 5, and page 8 through the end. You can also type “last” for the last page. If you prefer a single file with those pages, choose “A single file.”
Is quality lost when splitting?
No. Pages are copied as they are, without recompressing or converting anything. The text stays selectable and the images keep their resolution.
How do I split a PDF to send it by email?
Use “By size” and type your email limit, for example 10 MB. The tool groups consecutive pages without going over that size. If a single page already weighs more than the limit, it ends up alone in its own file and we let you know.
What does the “By bookmarks” option do?
It creates one file for each top-level bookmark in the PDF, that is, for each chapter of the outline you see in the side panel of your viewer. It is only available if the document has bookmarks.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
If the PDF needs a password to open, you first have to remove it with the “Unlock PDF” tool (you need to know the password). PDFs that only have editing or printing restrictions are split without any problem.
Ways to split a PDF
Depending on what you need, a different mode makes sense. By ranges works when you know which pages you want, for example to pull out an appendix or an invoice from a batch. Every page creates one file per sheet, useful for scans with several documents. Every N pages splits the PDF into equal parts. By size solves the classic email attachment limit, and by bookmarks separates chapters using the document’s own outline.
Tips
- Use the thumbnails to pick pages when you do not remember the number: as you select them, the ranges field fills itself in.
- Compress afterward any parts that are still large: with “Compress PDF” you can shrink them without leaving here.
- File names keep the original name and add the pages each one contains, so they are easy to recognize.
