  4. When you like the order, select “Organize PDF” and download it.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The pages are reordered inside your browser and the file never leaves your device. You can use the tool with private documents.

How do I move a page with the keyboard or on a phone?

With the keyboard, focus a thumbnail with the arrow keys and press Alt with the arrow keys to move it. On a phone, press and hold a thumbnail for a moment and drag it. You can also select pages and use “To start” or “To end.”

Can I move several pages at once?

Yes. Select the pages with a click (hold Shift to select a range) and drag any of them: they all move together and keep their order.

Can I add blank pages or pages from another file?

Yes. “Blank page” inserts an empty sheet of the same size after the selected page, and “Add files” adds the pages of other PDFs or of JPG, PNG, and WEBP images at the end.

Is quality lost when reordering?

No. The pages are copied as they are, without compressing the text or the images again. Links to websites are kept; internal links between pages are removed, because the order is no longer the original one.

What if I delete a page by mistake?

Use “Undo” or Ctrl+Z (⌘+Z on a Mac). It keeps up to 100 steps, and the original file is never modified until you download the new one.

Organize a PDF without any software

Organizing pages is useful for fixing a scan that came out in the wrong order, moving an appendix to the end, taking out an extra sheet, or building a document from parts of several files. Here you see the pages as thumbnails and work with them visually, like photos spread out on a table.

Handy shortcuts

  • Odd pages first: puts 1, 3, 5… first and then 2, 4, 6…, useful for double-sided scans where you ran the fronts through first.
  • Interleave files: if you scanned the fronts into one PDF and the backs into another, add the second one with “Add files” and interleave the pages. With “Interleave reversed” it works even if you flipped the stack.
  • Reverse order: flips the whole document with one click.
  • Undo and redo: Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y (or Ctrl+Shift+Z) walk through your steps.

After organizing

If the PDF ended up heavy, run it through Compress PDF. If you need to remove or pull out pages, try Delete PDF pages or Extract PDF pages, or turn pages with Rotate PDF.
