Your browser is too old for this tool
It can’t read or create audio. Update Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari and try again.
Your browser doesn’t include audio WebCodecs, so its own decoder is used. It works the same with MP3, WAV, M4A, and FLAC; very long audio may take longer, and OGG isn’t available.
You can drag more files into the box above.
Output format
To create M4A (AAC), your browser downloads a ≈ 250 KB encoder once, only if it doesn’t include one. On a mobile connection this can take a few seconds.

How to use it
- Drop your audio files into the box or select them from your device. Videos work too: their audio is used. You can load up to 20 at once.
- Choose the output format and the quality. Below, you will see how large the result would be before you start.
- If you need to, open “More options” to change the sample rate, switch to mono, normalize the volume, trim the start and end, or add a title and artist.
- Select “Convert audio,” listen to the result, and download it. If you converted several files, they download together in a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
Does converting MP3 to WAV improve the quality?
No. The MP3 already lost information when it was compressed, and the WAV doesn’t bring it back: the file just gets larger. It is useful for editing in audio programs that prefer an uncompressed file, not for improving the sound.
How big is a WAV file?
One minute of stereo audio as WAV is around 10 MB, much more than the MP3. If size matters, stay with the MP3 or convert to FLAC, which loses nothing and compresses.
Are my audio files uploaded?
No. The conversion happens in your browser, using your own device’s power. The files never leave your computer, so you can convert private recordings safely.
MP3 and WAV: when to use each
MP3 compresses with some loss and stays small; WAV stores the audio uncompressed and is much larger. WAV is useful for editing, mixing, or mastering, because programs can process it without having to decompress it first. But keep in mind that converting an MP3 to WAV doesn’t restore the quality that was already lost.
How to do it
The output format is already set to WAV. Drop your MP3 files, check the estimated size, and download the result; if you convert several, they download together in a ZIP. For the opposite direction, use WAV to MP3 conversion, or open the audio converter to pick another format.
