Canyon run
Boost yourself up and to the side with every tap while the canyon closes in. Climb as high as you can without touching the walls.
Tap the left or right half of the screen to boost yourself up and toward that side. Do not touch the walls.
Tips
- Without taps, gravity pulls you down: alternate left and right to stay high.
- The canyon narrows and winds as you climb; the crosswind shows in the particles.
- The higher you climb, the faster you have to react. The game ends when you touch a wall or fall below the start.
- On Reduced difficulty the canyon is wider, the wind and the sideways push are weaker, and the walls warn you sooner.

- Choose Normal or Reduced difficulty and select Play.
- Tap the left or right half of the screen to boost yourself up and toward that side.
- On a computer, use the left and right arrow keys, or the A and D keys.

Frequently asked questions
How do you play Canyon run?
Your character falls under gravity. Each tap pushes it up and to the left or right, depending on the side you tap. The goal is to climb as high as possible without hitting the canyon walls.
What happens if I touch a wall?
The game ends right away and your maximum height is shown. The same happens if you fall below the starting point, so it pays to alternate taps and not lose height.
How does the crosswind work?
The higher you go, the stronger the wind. The particles crossing the canyon show its direction: if they drift to one side, you will need to tap more toward the opposite side to compensate.
Is height measured in meters?
Yes. Your score is the maximum height reached, in meters, and it is saved as your best score along with a chart of your last games.
Is there an easier mode?
Yes. Before you play, you can choose Reduced difficulty: the canyon is wider, the crosswind and the push of each tap are weaker, and the walls show a warning strip so you can react before crashing. Your score is saved the same way on both difficulties.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. Tap the left or right half of the screen, or use the two big buttons below the play area. The play area does not scroll the page, and there is no double-tap zoom.
Canyon run rules
- The canyon is generated from a seed: its shape and route change in every game.
- With no taps, gravity pulls you down; each tap adds vertical thrust and a sideways push.
- The canyon narrows and winds as you climb, and the crosswind grows with height.
- The game ends if the character touches a wall or falls below the start. Your score is the maximum height in meters.
Tips for climbing higher
- Tap in short bursts and alternate left and right to stay near the middle of the canyon.
- Anticipate the bend: look at the outline a few meters ahead to see which way the canyon shifts.
- When the wind blows hard, give a corrective tap to the opposite side before the character gets close to the wall.
- In narrow stretches, avoid big sideways pushes: prioritize height and correct little by little.
Reduced difficulty and warnings
Before you start, you can choose between Normal and Reduced. On Reduced, the canyon is wider, the crosswind weighs less, and each tap pushes less to the side, so it is more forgiving. In addition, a warning strip is drawn next to the walls: when the character enters that margin, the strip intensifies, the “Wall close!” notice appears, and it is announced to screen readers. The edge of the canyon lets you anticipate the correction before it is too late, and the text status describes your position, the wind, and how close you are to the wall.
Controls
On a computer: left and right arrow keys, or A and D. Pause with Esc or P. On a phone: tap the left or right half of the play area, or use the buttons. Your best height is saved in your browser.
