How to use it
- Drag your images into the box or select them from your device. It accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, HEIC, and TIFF, up to 50 at a time.
- Check the result in the viewer: the original is on the left and the compressed image on the right. Drag the divider to compare, and zoom with Ctrl + scroll (⌘ + scroll on a Mac), with two fingers, or with the zoom buttons. Double-click to switch between fit and 100%.
- Move the quality slider, pick a shortcut (Web, Email, Best quality, or Smallest size), or set a format, a size, or a maximum file size. Every change shows up instantly, with the new file size and the percentage saved.
- Go through the batch in the image strip. If one image needs different treatment, select it and turn on “Adjust only this image.”
- Download the image you are viewing, or all of them together in a ZIP, from the summary bar.
Frequently asked questions
Why is 1 MB such a common limit?
Many portals and systems set 1 MB as the maximum per file. It is a generous cap that is almost always reached by lowering the quality or the size a little, without damaging the image.
Does the image stay the same?
At 1 MB, the difference in most photos is imperceptible at screen size. The comparison viewer and 100% zoom let you confirm it before you download.
Can I process several photos?
Yes. Load up to 50 images and they are all compressed to the same limit. You can download them one by one or together in a ZIP.
The 1 MB cap on portals
It is one of the most requested limits when uploading documents and photos: 1 MB, which is 1024 KB. This page has it selected so you do not have to set it up. The tool adjusts the quality and, only if needed, the dimensions.
Check the result
The viewer shows the original and the compressed image with a slider, and the 100% zoom lets you review the details. If the photo already weighed less than 1 MB, you are told and it is not made worse. For a smaller size try under 500 KB or open the full tool.
