Step by step

How to use it

  1. Drag your images into the box or select them from your device. It accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, HEIC, and TIFF, up to 50 at a time.
  2. Check the result in the viewer: the original is on the left and the compressed image on the right. Drag the divider to compare, and zoom with Ctrl + scroll (⌘ + scroll on a Mac), with two fingers, or with the zoom buttons. Double-click to switch between fit and 100%.
  3. Move the quality slider, pick a shortcut (Web, Email, Best quality, or Smallest size), or set a format, a size, or a maximum file size. Every change shows up instantly, with the new file size and the percentage saved.
  4. Go through the batch in the image strip. If one image needs different treatment, select it and turn on “Adjust only this image.”
  5. Download the image you are viewing, or all of them together in a ZIP, from the summary bar.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is 200 KB a good size for the web?

Yes, it is a comfortable range for publishing photos on a website or sending them by email. The page loads fast and the quality holds up well on screen.

Will the format change?

No. The original format is kept by default. If you want to convert to WebP to make the file smaller, choose the format in the options.

Is the image uploaded to a server?

No. The compression happens in your browser. Your photos never leave your device, so you can compress private images with peace of mind.

200 KB: a balance for the web

For publishing on a blog or a store, or sending by email, 200 KB per image is a reasonable target: the photo looks sharp on screen and the page loads fast. This page has the limit ready and the tool adjusts the quality on its own.

How to get the most out of it

If the image does not reach the size, the tool reduces the dimensions a little and lets you know; if it already weighed less, it leaves it as is. Check the result with the comparison viewer and download each file or all of them in a ZIP. For a different limit try under 100 KB or go back to the image compressor.
