How to use it
- Drag your images into the box or select them from your device. It accepts JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, HEIC, and TIFF, up to 50 at a time.
- Check the result in the viewer: the original is on the left and the compressed image on the right. Drag the divider to compare, and zoom with Ctrl + scroll (⌘ + scroll on a Mac), with two fingers, or with the zoom buttons. Double-click to switch between fit and 100%.
- Move the quality slider, pick a shortcut (Web, Email, Best quality, or Smallest size), or set a format, a size, or a maximum file size. Every change shows up instantly, with the new file size and the percentage saved.
- Go through the batch in the image strip. If one image needs different treatment, select it and turn on “Adjust only this image.”
- Download the image you are viewing, or all of them together in a ZIP, from the summary bar.
Frequently asked questions
Can it always reach 50 KB?
No. For very large images or ones with lots of detail, lowering the quality alone may not be enough; in that case the tool also reduces the dimensions to get there and tells you.
Will it look bad?
At 50 KB a large photo loses detail when you zoom in, but for a profile picture or a thumbnail it looks fine. Compare before and after with the slider before you decide.
Is the photo data removed?
By default it is, including the GPS location, to protect your privacy. It is a good chance to clean out metadata you do not need.
When you need an image under 50 KB
Many forms, management systems, and online procedures require a photo under 50 KB. It is also a common size for thumbnails and avatars. This page has the limit already set so you do not have to look for it in the options.
How it reaches the target
The tool tries lower and lower qualities and, if that is not enough, shrinks the dimensions a little. It always tries to keep the best possible quality within the requested size. If the image was already under 50 KB, it tells you and does not make it worse. For other limits, try under 100 KB or go back to the image compressor.
